The people in your squad can be very different but when all 8 of them are together they can be them selfs. They can all jump into the car and simply say drive. The people you mainly hang out with, do crazy thing. The term is a bit flashy and is more likely to be heard in hip-hop lyrics than in spoken conversation.

A group who have been mates for a long time. Gender doesn't disqualify people from being part of a squad, but if a group of chicks meet through their boyfriends/husbands then they cannot label themselves a squad in their own right and expect to be taken seriously.

They can only adopt the moniker 'squad wags.'
