Nabokov Effect

The Nabokov effect is a phenomenon in media that starts off as a ironic self expressive "pointing fun at it" media that the consumers (majority) turn into romanticization or idealization of a particular action or lifestyle. Nabokov's Lolita is the blueprint of such, he wrote a book called Lolita from the pedophiles (Humbert-Humbert's) prespective. Hollywood took it upon themself to turn the message into a 180° pedophilia romanticization media.

Other examples include (but not limited to):
Filthyfrank's persona, Lana Del Rey (fem manipulator) music, killing stalking (manga).

Bro I do not like my gf always listening to Lana Del Rey, she now want's the break up with me and be a trophy wife!

The term was coined on stream by friends close to Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek, the Twitch streamer and retired CSGO professional player.

Friend1: "She lasered me, but just stood there when you killed her."
