Standard Creepiness Rule

(Also known as the "Rule of 7")

The Standard Creepiness Rule is an equation that determines the youngest possible age of a potential date that is deemed to be socially acceptable and not creepy. It was mentioned in comic 314 of the web-comic XKCD. According to XKCD, the rule is as follows:

"Your age" (in years)÷2+7=Minimum socially acceptable age of your date

Be sure to follow PEMDAS.

Also remember that the rule is not set in stone and that it is superseded by legal restrictions and the presence of a consensual agreement.
Brad: "Hey, do you think it would be O.k. for me to go out with Rachel?"

Ryan: "Well you're 32 and she's 24, and since 32 divided by 2 plus 7 is 23, the Standard Creepiness Rule says you can date her."

Brad: "Ha-ha! I just have to remember that even though it's called a 'rule' its more like a 'guideline'."

creepiness ratio

The ratio that determines if a relationship between two people is creepy, based on their ages.

The ratio is (Age/2)+7 for minimal age, and (Age-7)*2 for maximum age.

The creepiness ratio does not work below 14, and does not exclude other limitations on age limits.
At age 24, the creepiness ratio allows dating someone between 19 and 34.

At age 34, the creepiness ratio allows dating someone between 24 and 54.

creepiness limit

The lower age limit for one's girl- or boyfriend, below which the relationship becomes creepy. Found by the following formula:

creepiness limit = 0.5x(your age) + 6

Breaks down when you're below age 13 or over 65, approximately.
Eg. the creepiness limit for a 30-year-old would be 21, but the creepiness limit for an 18-year-old would be 15.

What was originally intended to describe those individuals, almost always a male, whose irregular behaviour somehow exudes a degree of uncertainty or threat towards others has now, amoung its other featherbrained and fatuous uses, come to merely define men who's simply unattractive to the eyes of the critique overlaying the terminology.

I went to a bar in the Castro Neighborhood friday night, and guess what? The entire place was full of f'ugly asians. The entire place drenched of CREEPINESS: some of them tried to hit on me!

It's why I didn't stay for more than 5 minutes.

Of course, my night got better. I then went visit the bar a few blocks down, and THAT club was full of blonde-haired, blue-eyed studs!! =D
I wish more of THEM that night would hit on me, though. =/
