When one is attempting to sleep at a late hour and just before falling asleep he farts. The rancid stench of his fart awakens him or his partner fully.

"Damn I'm tired. I keept myself up all night with that midnight coffee."

Midnight Coffee 

Always tired, but you can't sleep. No matter what you do, you are constantly plagued by insomnia. So much so in fact that coffee is the only thing that can keep your motor functions going. I'm turning into Tyler Durden out here.
