Closetplay

Closetplay is cosplay using items that one has in one’s closet — the costume generally approximates a specific character but might not be completely accurate, because the articles of clothing involved are for everyday wear.

I closetplayed my favourite Final Fantasy character the other day just for fun.

A form of cosplay where one dresses up as a character people won't recognize, such as an oc or fancharacter. Not done very often because it's not easily recognized or very popular.

She prefered closetplay to regular cosplay because she found her own character's costumes more fun to make.
