The act of receiving a large amount of cash from BP. Recipients usually were not at all affected financially by the spill but hit the BP lotto when BP was distributing cash loosely to keep peoples minds off the catastrophe they created.

"Check out Jim's new 30k ride!", Craig exclaims. "Doesn't Jim just work part time at Burger King?" queried David. "Not anymore he quit his job once he got BP rich and just rides around all day" says Craig.
