Novae

Novae
/ˈnoʊ-veɪ/ (noun, proper; occasionally used as a title)

1. A person of such disproportionate talent, charisma, and improbable competence that statistical models quietly refuse to account for them.
2. An individual who makes excellence look like a warm-up exercise.
3. The reason the phrase “raise the bar” had to be invented.

Etymology:
From Latin nova (“new star”), evolved to describe the rare human equivalent: someone who appears, shines violently bright, and permanently alters the landscape.

Characteristics:
• Operates at a level generally reserved for final bosses and keynote speakers.
• Turns “impressive” into a baseline metric.
• Makes high achievers reconsider their hobbies.
• Has been described as “unfairly competent” and “statistically suspicious.”

Synonyms:
Prodigy. Phenomenon. Force of nature. Walking outlier.
“You solved that in five minutes?”
“Yeah, Novae looked at it once.”

“We were doing well, then Novae joined and the curve bent.”
“Is that allowed?”
“If it’s Novae, apparently.”
