hopout

A part of a railyard (or directly adjacent to or outside of a railyard) where a freighthopper gets on a freight train, or waits to get on a freight train.

Dirty kid: I'm trying to catch out, but I've been waiting by the hopout for three days but the train I want hasn't come.
