redneck 

originated i believe in Tennessee as dutch/Irish immigrants. the name redneck came about because of red handkerchiefs they wore around their necks. they are also where the term "hillbilly" came from.

"did you see that lawnmower race?"
"yeah, that was some redneck bullshit"
