jatt- a caste of punjab that think their shit don't stink. They claim they are the real true warriors of punjab, they think they are the predominant caste. They are no different from the chamar caste (lower caste). They truth is they come from an Iranian descent and middle eastern descent. They claim they are the real true punjabi pure blood but in reality if you look at history its the total opposite of what they claim.
In Arabian form, the term is mentioned as Yath of Yathrib offsprings of Jad or Jat Gad, son of Israel Jacob or Zath or Zutt (in Arabic 'J' changes for 'Z') by the Arab geographers. Thus the nomenclature of the tribe is of post-Sanskrit Indian origin and belongs to the Indo-Aryan language.Alexander Cunningham wrote that the early Arab writers called the Jat people - Zaths. He believed the Jatts/Zaths were the Scythian Xanthii.
