Branch of ornithology concerning ducks, geese and swans. Stems from the term anatidaephobia coined by Gary Larson in "Far Side" comic strip in 1988. Also used as a sledge in cricket toward a batsman who scored a zero or "duck".
1. Andrew - "I'm so happy to be accepted to study ornithology at university."
Joseph - "Will you specialise in anatidaeology?"
Andrew - "No, I am scared of ducks"
2. Bob - "is that a guinea fowl or a mallard duck?"
Midge - "I don't know. Ask S, she's an anatidaeologist"
3. Nathan - "Poor Josh, scoring a duck in his cricket final"
Simon - "yeah he's such an anatidaeologist."
