Half-way between Yikes and Snipes, "Yipes" is the soft-consonant, universally-acceptable equivalent of expletives uttered to show surprise.

Guy #1:"Yo bro you be diggin this cap I got?"
Guy #2:"Yipes! No, I do not like your hat."
