Pseudesicut

A route that until tested looks in every way to be a shortcut, but in actuality is a longer, more difficult, or much less reliable route. This basically makes it the opposite of a shortcut.
Pronounced: soo-dess-ee-cut

"I was going to cut through the woods to get to school faster, but the trail was so windy and difficult to navigate that it was actually a pseudesicut!"
