Slang for viral gastroenteritis given to Sailors who tend to pick up the virus in Asian liberty ports. It is an inflammation of the intestine caused by a virus. The symptoms usually include abdominal cramps, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting and normally last about 12-24 hours.

Also known to infect cruise ships where close quarters and a failure of passengers to wash their hands leads to wide infection.
