The word bae can be miss interpreted for babe, baby and other words to call peoples significant others. But actually, bae is an acronym for Before Anyone Else, and also Danish for poop. So saying 'my girlfriend /boyfriend is bae' is the equivalent of saying 'my girlfriend/boyfriend is before anyone else' or 'my girlfriend /boyfriend is poop' .
