Friend: I can assure you, I;m going to block the sun's rays!
You: It's already been done. You're just Simpsoning.

Lugbear

Someone who takes on more work than needed either to make a point or prove their strength.

Me: "I can't believe that guy; shoveling every sidewalk in the neighborhood."
Friend: "Well, that's the best lugbear the community has got, so let him do the heavy lifting for everyone."
