Golden Day 

A day off work, solely for the pleasure of the individual, or used to avoid what one anticipates to be a bad day. Can also be the term used by the over 50's who are entitled to a day off once a year as an extra benefit.

Equivalent to taking a 'sickie'.

'So I'll see you tomorrow then!'

'Afraid not. I'm having a Golden Day tomorrow!'
