the kid in high school who played guitar, liked pierce the veil, had blue hair, and was always crying, but was a genuine and generally kind person unless you started something with them or their friends. they just wanted somebody to cuddle and had an aching heart.

guy 1: "ugh that kids so emo"
guy 2 "i guess. theyre more softedge though. give them a break."

cradle of filth

an english black/melodic/gothic metal band consisting of 10-27 members. toxic "true" metalheads call them mainstream, but they arent. referred to by richmond from The IT Crowd.

Jen: "Cradle of Filth-I presume thats a band."
Richmond: "mm"
Jen: "They arent literally a cradle of filth, are they?"
Richmond: "Oh no, that would be horrible."
