A Southern way of saying “child”, pulled from deep Southern Black Culture. Nicki Minaj popularized this term, in a 2019 Instagram livestream when a user asked if she had “Big Boobs”, which she responded with “Big Boobs..what? Um.. chile, anyways so-”. Stan Twitter users started using this term for everything, in most memes associated with the Ethel Cain meme, “When the Chile is tea, but the finna is gag, sis, I’m dead as a chile.”.
