A friend who doesn't get high, but comes along so when you get high, they can watch your back and you don't do anything stupid. Also they can supply entertainment that makes sense, because they're not high. And they get the food when you get the munchies.

My friend doesn't want to smoke, but I told him just to come along and be my high buddy.
