Polying

The word polying is being defined as lying in order to avoid being impolite, inappropriate or rude in social situations. The word is based on the connection of the two words polite + lying = polying. The verb polying is being conjugated the same way as the verb lying. The semantic meaning of the word polying is softer than the meaning of the word lying because of the good intentions one has when polying e.g. in order to avoid hurting someone's feelings.
A young man stopped in front of her. “Is everything okay?” he asked. He seemed worried. "I'm fine," she polied, trying to hide her tears. The truth was too unbearable and he was a total stranger. He was obviously just trying to be polite. / She was polying to her friends all the time. She didn't want them to know, how vulnerable and broken she was. / “Do you love me?” she asked. “Of course,” he polied. What else could he say? He simply wasn't there yet.
