hamedo

As seen in Final Fantasy Tactics, hamedo comes from the Japanese hame (panel) and do (counter). In the game, characters fight each other from panels (squares on a map), and a hamedo is the ability to counter attack before a person in an adjacent panel can attack.
He tried to stab me, but I gave him the hamedo first.
