A sunburn that was obtained on vacation or by participating in some fun activity.

Larry: Hey, Chuck, that's one hell of a funburn. Looks like you had a great time in Maui.

Chuck: Thanks, Larry. Looks like you got a nice funburn on the back of your neck while snowboarding in Tahoe!
