The point in alcohol consumption where the imbiber goes from a little tipsy to full-on inebriated. Usually happens quickly if drinking on an empty stomach or from mixing many types of alcohol at one sitting.
Shelia was fine after splitting that bottle of wine at dinner, but she went off the grid soon after chugging Jane's orphaned vodka drinks.
