Treddling

The act of repeatedly stamping down a patch of soil or earth to flatten and pack it, mainly used on farms in Northern Lancashire, England.

Roger: We need to get treddling this patch so no one trips over it.
Mandy: Stop teaching Dan made up words!
Roger: It’s not made up, me dad used to do it.
