A deity of war and depicted as a wolf, his name means 'opener of the ways'. He was seen as a scout who opened the way for armies to proceed forward, as well as a wolf that would accompany the pharaoh on hunts. He is considered the son of Anubis, as well as the son of Set. Sometimes confused with Anubis.
