Flagging

Verb:
1) to flag: spray painting a flag on public property to voice one's discontent, usually a Union Jack or Saint George's Cross.

"I no longer recognise this roundabout with all of the flagging that has taken place."
"This flagging on the zebra crossing has really instilled a sense of national pride in me."
