CSS 

Content Scrambling System, meant to make sure DVD videos could not be copied or played in DVD players that were not manufactured in their respective countries. See Macrovision, Intellectual Property.

I spent thirty Euros on this DVD about the Bush Administration's corruption, and it won't play in the United States -- it must be the CSS.

Macrovision 

A copy protection technology that prevents copies of videos from being made on two VHS recorders connected in serial. Currently used on most DVD videos.

I can't afford this DVD -- I rented it and tried to copy it onto a tape, but the picture was distorted.

1. Misspelling of "so big". Made popular by the computer virus (or worm) released in mid-2003.

sleeper 

A radical, who hides his or her beliefs in order to prevent suspicion from any authority figure; an extreme liberal who pretends to be a conservative, usually for gaining money to fund a revolution.

James Cole believed a schizophrenic person was going to release the virus; it turned out a sleeper did the job.
