Cegi can take the place of "them" when referring to a single person of unknown gender identity. Cegi stands for "Currently Elusive Gender Identity" and can be used when an individual who is speaking about another does not know how an individual sexually identifies themselves.

In the old world, one might have said, "He went to the park" or "She went to the park", but in a world of unknown gender identities, an individual can instead say, "Cegi went to the park" which is nothing more than a big question mark (?) around the individual's sexual identity. This term is not meant to be offensive, but rather should be used as a placeholder in conversation/written correspondence until the individual's true sexual identity has been confirmed by the individual in question.

C.E.G.I. (normally just written as cegi, just as he or she would normally be written) expresses the entire LGBTQIA+ family (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender/Transsexual, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual/Allies, Nonbinary/Genderqueer +).

In essence, cegi takes the place in a sentence where he or she is not accurate or if the true gender of the individual is unknown to the speaker/writer. Since cegi is a pronoun, it must follow the other pronoun capitalization rules. For example, he/she is capitalized at the beginning of a sentence, so cegi would be capitalized as well. On the other hand, just as he/she should not be capitalized midsentence, nigher should cegi be capitalized midsentence.
1. How is cegi doing today?
2. How could cegi possibly be so good at drawing without any practice?
3. Cegi is by far the best athlete I have ever seen!
