The "Textpat" was coined by famous Expat in the Philippines YouTuber Sunshine Shoulders to describe a person who dreams of going to the Philippines but instead lives through videos about the Philippines and only has LDR's(Long distance relationships with a Filipina usually) and only texts them and sends them money inflating the dating market for the actual expat that travels to the Philippines. One Textpat according to sunshine shoulders has been in a 28 year long, long distance relationship.
Ray only texts his girlfriend and never visits her in the Philippines and never will, he is just a textpat.
