Hydroplaning

The experience of having so much emotional shit going on that you lose your grip on your own life. You know what you need to do, and you may even start doing it, but somehow you spend the entire day being carried from one thing to the next while accomplishing almost none of what you intended. You just glide through your day, totally out of control, often not even realizing it until later.

“OMG! I am so sorry I forgot to text you! I meant to, but I have just been hydroplaning all day!”

Thumped/thumping: beat/beating. Could be used when talking about a fight or in a game.

Thumped: "My sister thumped me hard in MarioKart last night. I need to practice so I can beat her next time."
