- Stands for Area Effect, which refers to certain spells and abilities that cover a specific area that has a certain effect.
- Widely used as an acronym in MMORPGs such as World of Warcraft and RIFT.
- Otherwise known as "AOE" (Area of Effect), which is the more used version of the acronym.

Remember to stay away from the red AE once it appears.
