A regional name a sandwich made a from a long crusty bread typically filled with meats, cheeses, often peppers, tomato onions and moistened with olive oil. Similar to “hoagie” “submarine” or “po’ boy”

When you are in Norristown ant want a hoagie without lettuce, simply ask for a “zep”.
