Pull a Lavacka

When you back out of something within a hour before or after the event that was planned long in advance. Usually giving a hollow or invalid excuse for why you can't or couldn't have gone.

I was going to on that road trip with Brian that we planned last month, but I decided to pull a lavacka and sleep instead.
