To suffer a painful loss or otherwise regrettable experience, and finding that wiping out the memory is the only real way to cope.

-Related to the character on NBCs drama about superheroes, know only as "The Haitian". Erases memories.

Timmy: Did your mom really die last week?
Girl: What??
Dad: Shh, she's been haitianing Timmy.
