Dickpreaching

The act of self-praise in an argument after making a statement or retort.

Common logical fallacy among the Baby Boomer generation as it is typically used among elders to validate their own points to younger people in a condescending matter.

(Also spelled “Dick Preaching”.)
An example of dickpreaching:

Uncle Vern: “I can’t believe the liberals just announced they’re raising the minimum wage, unbelievable.”

His Nephew: “Considering how the prices of necessities have inflated, I think this is for the best.”

Uncle Vern: “Then you’re going to get taxed more. ‘Oh yeah, that’s right Uncle Vern, that makes a lot of sense.’ Might as well drop the mic with that one.”

His Nephew: “Quit your dickpreaching, Uncle Vern. I would never say that because you’re not making a rational argument.”

The specific line of dickpreaching in this context is Uncle Vern himself saying “Oh yeah, that’s right Uncle Vern, that makes a lot of sense.” on behalf of his nephew who still does not agree with him.
