The unpopular American spelling of gauge. Despite how rare it is, it is technically correct. You should use this spelling if you care more about phonetic spelling than etymological ones. If you really suck at spelling, use other simple spellings such as "donut", "esophagus", "catalog", "encyclopedia", and etc.
