Espeir 

Thinking of a comeback too late; the shortened version of the French term L'esprit de l'escalier or l'esprit d'escalier ("staircase wit")

Can also be used to describe the feeling you get after you walk away from a situation and think of the perfect thing to say.

Person 1: Why didn't you say anything.
Person 2: I had a moment of espeir, I couldn't think of anything until he left
