a. The set of numerals used for writing numbers in arabic; extended to those used to write in the "arabic numeral system"; and thence to any set of characters representing the basic set of numbers in general.

b. (figurative) Used to refer to large numbers of an object.

Etymology: From Moroccan Arabic "wahed" meaning one and "zuz" meaning two.
