Used in the motion pictury industry, the McSpud is a piece of hardware that has a 5/8"-27 threaded male end, used to attach standard microphone holders to. The other end is a smooth 5/8" baby spud which can be inserted into any standard grip head.

The McSpud allows a rigging grip to mount a microphone to virtually anywhere when used in conjuction with standard 5/8" mounts, clamps and rigs.
1) Mount a microphone to a palm tree: use a baby nail-on plate, grip head, McSpud and a microphone holder.

2) Mount a microphone to a Jungle Gym: Attach a standard Cardellini Clamp to the jungle Gym, add the Grip Head, McSpud, and Microphone holder.
