Elephobia

is the fear or reluctance to talk about an obvious, significant, or uncomfortable issue—the proverbial “elephant in the room.” Someone experiencing elephobia avoids addressing topics that everyone knows are important but nobody wants to discuss.

Usage in a sentence:

The team’s elephobia was obvious when no one mentioned the failing project during the meeting.

Elephobia often prevents honest conversations about difficult subjects, both in workplaces and personal relationships.
