Definitions by SmunchkinsDad

A playful and affectionate term of endearment, particularly for a much-loved child, used to express love, tenderness or familiarity, and sometimes to gently ask the child to move aside.
Personal spoken usage, Galway, Ireland. I regularly use the expressions "You're my little Smunchkin" and "Smunchkin, move over" when speaking affectionately to my daughter Jasmine. We have a narrow kitchen asking Jasmine to move aside as coming through with hot food etc. Im proud of you smunchkin after Jasmines team wins the match they played. These examples are from everyday family conversation, rather than published sources.
