Flodge

The edge of an opening or a cavity, specifically, the protruding metal (or sometimes wooden) structure located at the bottom edge of a door frame.

I really thought I could get my drunk ass home and in bed quietly until I, while entering my apartment, tripped over the flodge and woke up all of my roommates.
