Hawkesby

NZ slang word for Money.

This comes from when Media personality/broadcaster John Hawkesby received a large pay out from TVNZ following dismissal.

Often used to describe something that seems overpriced.

"It's been a long ghastly affair from beginning to end," she said. "And what hurts is that it should never have been called the Hawkesby affair ... Now our name is forever tainted."
That's a lot of Hawkesbys for a beer.

To describe an overpriced very average beer.
