A cybersecurity ""school of thought"" for people who are overly paranoid about harmless OS security details while ignoring the most important factor, the human factor.
Soycurity believers think that they will magically get hacked if they don't harden their OS/browser and/or have the latest security updates installed.
They believe their OS is their guardian angel which personally protects them from cyberattacks, while at the same time not caring to actually educate themselves on real cybersecurity.
Soycurity proponents believe there is always a 1:1 equivalence between number of security vulnerabilities and chances of getting pwned. Even if you only use a desktop and have common sense.
The following is an example of how a conversation with a soycurity believer might unfold:

Reasonable computer user: I am disabling CPU mitigations in my system to drastically increase performance in my 3rd-gen intel CPU.
Soycurity believer: You can't do that, it's insecure!
Reasonable computer user: Why not?
Soycurity believer: Because you'll get hacked!
Reasonable computer user: By whom? I never tell my IP address to anyone, plus like everyone else i don't connect directly to the internet but rather to a router which then connects to the internet. I also keep my router and web browser up-to-date. I never download suspicious files off the internet.
Soycurity believer: *has a stroke*
