Circa early/mid 2010’s “dog” and “glizzy” were both used as terms for firearms. “Dog” was ambiguously used esp in texting. By 2015 DMV teens regularly referred to the hot dog as a “glizzy”. Term began to spread outside of the DC area via Instagram.
