Swag Ball is a backyard game invented by a father and played by a growing group of friends in Perrysburg, Ohio and the surrounding area. The game is an adaptation of Spikeball using a mini trampoline and a volleyball. It can be played on grass, sand, or gym floors.

Players may use any technique to play the ball, including volleyball-style setting, bumping, spiking, or Spikeball-style passing. Swag Ball is often considered superior to Spikeball due to flexible team sizes (2v2 up to 6v6), an easier learning curve, and a highly competitive athletic style. These traits contribute to the name “Swag Ball,” representing an evolution of Spikeball while remaining its own game.

Rules:

1. Teams occupy opposite sides of the mini trampoline.
2. Up to 3 hits per team before returning the ball.
3. No double hits or carries.
4. Any body part may contact the ball.
5. Blocks at the mini trampoline are legal and do not count as a hit.
6. Rim and pocket shots are legal.
7. If the ball hits the mini trampoline before all 3 hits are used, remaining hits may still be used.
8. A double bounce on the mini trampoline is a point for the opposing team.
9. Any ball hitting the ground on a team’s side is a point for the other team.
10. Rally scoring to 25, win by 2.
11. Serve goes to the team that won the previous point.
12. Courtesy serves require serving to a designated player; full serves may go anywhere.
