Noun (gaming): a particular class or role defined by their ability to absorb damage and/or draw aggression from either players or NPCs and away from more vulnerable classes to allow them to focus on dealing damage or providing support.
Player 1: That paladin is running low on big tank energy, Shaman needs to buff
