Used to describe an apparent benefit of an item or service, which is deemed cool, yet will almost certainly never be used and is of little interest.

A mobile phone that is capable of reading information from photographs taken of barcodes, though with little accuracy.

"Look, this phone reads barcodes!"
"Yeah, it's a real 'mehnifit', I'd never use it."
