A modern phenomena in which levels of fitness (weights lifted, body shape and size), are considered less and less impressive in 2025 than say in 2015. This leads to a rise of body dysmorphia, and an increasing amount of steroid use in younger populations.
Person 1: "My son just hit 135 on bench press! I'm so very proud of him."
Person 2: "Due to gymflation, that really isn't very impressive for a 16 year old."
